This tour offers a historical journey along the valley, a history that starts with the construction of the dam Ingeniero Ballester and the incredible irrigation works. Thanks to this amazing irrigation network, today we can visit the numerous orchards in production, and the agritourism offerings that highlight the main activity of fruits and vegetables.
We will be stopping at:

  • Dam Ing. Ballester Dam, Barda del Medio. Walk and guided visit to the museum
  • Visit to the agritourism orchard and tea house. Centenario
  • A 30 min guided walk through a variety of fruit trees: apples, pears and different berries, learning about the production process and tasting seasonal fruits.

This tour offers a visit to the extraordinary paleontological findings of Villa El Chocón. The tour will start at the E. Bachmann Municipal Museum, where you will be able to enjoy a guided tour of the various remains on offer -the amazing richness of fossils discovered in the área-, with the main attraction being the Gigantosaurus Carolinii. Next, there will be a tour along the reservoir shore to see the dinosaur tracks perfectly preserved. Before heading back, we will stop at the El Chocón Hydroelectric Complex viewpoint, where we can enjoy a panoramic view of the Ezequiel Ramos Mexía Reservoir, the Ramos Mexía Lake and the incredible landscape of the area.

Lake Los Barreales Paleontological Center - Dino Project is located on the shore of Lake Los Barreales, approximately 90 km from the city of Neuquén, being the research headquarters of the University of Comahue. It can be considered as the first geo-paleontological park in Argentina, created in the year 2002, and its purpose is to rescue all the animals and plants remains found in the rocks, that inhabited this area more than 90 million years ago. It is the only Terrestrial Ecosystem of the Upper Cretaceous in South America. Visitors will be able to see live the work of paleontologists as they enter the world of geology and paleontology.

The Lago Barreales Paleontological Center is the research headquarters of the University of Comahue, where scientific, educational and cultural activities take place. It offers to any educational institutions and groups the opportunity to expand their knowledge of paleontological studies. Located 90 km from the city of Neuquén, it is the only open-air museum where you will be able to observe, not only inside the museum but also outside, all different species of dinosaurs that inhabited the area millions of years ago. We will continue the tour with a visit to one of the wineries in San Patricio. During this tour, visitors will have a close look at the recent wine-growing activity of San Patricio del Chañar, a town located 45 km from the city of Neuquén. In addition to visiting the different placements, visitors will be able to taste the main wines. Lunch at the winery is upon request.

Bubalco is a project developed for breeding and for the permanent exhibition of wild, native species and exotic fauna as well, aiming to flourish in different resourceful areas such as education, science and tourism. It is located on 34 hectares of land, so called island 19, near the city of Allen. Bubalcó was declared scientific, educational, conservationist and tourist interest by the Legislature of the Province of Rio Negro, also co-founder of AZARA, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums of the Republic of Argentina, an active member of ALPZA, the Latin American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums. The design offers visitors the possibility of observing the various species in a natural and extensive area, in the form of a 3 hours walking tour.
